Flower Ink Painting

Here is a painting I did tonight. I used my inks and stains for the background. Then I just painted flowers where the red and purples were. I also used my Faber Castell gelatos. I really like how this turned out. I did it backwards from how I usually paint. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks

It's Friday!!!!

Well it's finally Friday! I got off work early so we went for a nature walk. We live down the road from the walking path in town. They have this cute little lending library. I just think this is such a cute idea. Every time we go for our walks I always take a peek and it is always different books.

 

We also saw some geese, ducks and turtles. I love that we can just go down the road and explore. This is the great thing about where we live. Sometimes I have to remind myself that when I get frustrated that  I can't get art supplies or clothes in town. There is a trade off for living where we live.

Sneak Peek....

Here is something I started tonight. Tonight I used magazine clippings, ink, stamps and paint. I also got some new Faber Castell gelatos. That is the first time I have ever used those. I like them a lot. I will have to order some more colors. I live in a small town so to get art supplies I have to order everything offline. Well I hope you like my picture.

Finished a new painting

Here is my finished painting. I really wanted to try something different. I wanted it to be a little abstract. This is what I came up with. What do you think?

This Weekend...

Well this last week was a hard and stressful week. I live in a small town and work at a medical office with two doctors(they are husband and wife). They told us on Monday that this would be there last summer here in Libby. They have worked here for 7 years and I started just two months after they opened their clinic. I am employed with the hospital in town so they are going to try and recruit new doctors. So this weekend I spent my Sunday afternoon sitting outside and drawing in my art journal. I have been afraid or intimidated to start. Sometimes I feel if I am not that good and I struggle with what I am making. My mother says a lot of artist are that way but it is hard. I never went to art school so I don't know the ins and outs of it all. I just know I like to create and I will continue until I get better. My son and I sat out in the yard and just hung out with our two dogs. Pudge enjoyed her Sunday afternoon. Here are two pictures of her laying on top of the picnic table.
