So my family took a vacation for my sons 8th birthday to the Washington/Oregon coast. It is a long drive for us, but my son has always wanted to see the ocean. We also took my two Boston terriers Pudge and Jo Jo. Pudge loved the ocean and couldn't get enough of it. Jo Jo didn't want anything to do with it. My son and two dogs did great! I really enjoyed the ocean. I have always wanted to go to the Oregon coast. We had a vacation house on Long Beach, WA. We went to Cannon Beach and checked out the tide pools and haystack rocks. That was my favorite part. I got some really cool photos. We also had to go to the Goonies house! On they way home we went and got a few picture of Mount Rainier. I have to try to figure out how to transfer these photos to my art work now. Wish me luck!

New Mixed Media Art

 

Here is something new I have been working on. What do you think? It is inspired by Mae Chevrette. She is one of my favorite artist. I just love her work. I put my own spin on it with the different ephemera paper. She does a lot of ocean mixed media paintings. I am not done yet I just wanted to share what I was working on. I have a few ideas that I want to try out. Just trying this process has brought a lot of new ideas to me. Thanks for stopping by.

Here are two paintings I started tonight. I was on Instagram and got inspired by artcmolina. Go check out her art it's great. I really like her style. I haven't been painting at all lately, but after seeing some of her work it was like I needed to try her style of abstract painting. Well they are not finished yet I needed to let them dry. Artist's Block

Well I haven't written in awhile. I'm struggling with artist's block lately. I painted a few things and totally hated what I was making. I need to find some new inspiration.  I have a couple ideas in my head, but sometimes I struggle with getting it to the canvas. With the stress at work with not knowing what is going to happen doesn't help.  Here is a picture I took the other day of our cat Yoda. She was outside in the backyard sunbathing.

Flower Ink Painting

Here is a painting I did tonight. I used my inks and stains for the background. Then I just painted flowers where the red and purples were. I also used my Faber Castell gelatos. I really like how this turned out. I did it backwards from how I usually paint. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks

It's Friday!!!!

Well it's finally Friday! I got off work early so we went for a nature walk. We live down the road from the walking path in town. They have this cute little lending library. I just think this is such a cute idea. Every time we go for our walks I always take a peek and it is always different books.

 

We also saw some geese, ducks and turtles. I love that we can just go down the road and explore. This is the great thing about where we live. Sometimes I have to remind myself that when I get frustrated that  I can't get art supplies or clothes in town. There is a trade off for living where we live.

Here is something I started tonight. Tonight I used magazine clippings, ink, stamps and paint. I also got some new Faber Castell gelatos. That is the first time I have ever used those. I like them a lot. I will have to order some more colors. I live in a small town so to get art supplies I have to order everything offline. Well I hope you like my picture.
